1. Keep up the motivated play. DH has put his stamp on this program. Every game, with the one St.Somebody exception, the team has played hard. The change the team has made to help turn the corner and start winning games is . . . .
2. Keep restricting AG's role to back up point guard and keep CV's bad choices in check. The games we have won have featured AG doing well in his bench role, and CV limiting poor decisions. Either last game or the game before AG was responsible for several TOs in a row, and DH pulled him. Keep that up. Even coming off the bench, AG's minutes are critical, and we need tight, controlled production out of him.
3. Go to BOOK early and often. It doesn't matter if he shoots 2 of 9 in the 1st half, get him going. Certainly would be better than other guys going 2 of 9 and BOOK stays cold. BOOK is definitely developing his in game skills rapidly, and it seems like it's only going to be a matter of time before he has a game where he shoots 55%, hangs 25 on the other team, pulls down 6 boards, and so on. Tonight would be a great night to have that happen.
4. Stay out of foul trouble, specifically Whaley. Based on last year, I can't believe that I'm writing this now, but Isaiah is a huge key to our success going forward. He has improved his defensive game to the point where he was shockingly impressive clamping down Achiuwa, who is going to be a lottery pick. What a staggering improvement. Whaley might be our next Hilton Armstrong, by which I mean, his overall improvement from 1st year to last might be on that level, even if he doesn't quite sniff the NBA. He is one of our smartest players, and has a great knack for knowing when to hedge, retreat, front, push, break off, and so on. Very natural defensive talent.
5. See Sid play a few more minutes. I love this kid's talent, and I'd like to see him get better.
We are going to be better next year. How much? Big question. But the trajectory is up, for sure.
