Geno's 2021/22 recruiting class

Uconn adds more Muffet on the schedule.....Huskies will visit South Bend, Ind. in 2020-21 and 2022-23 and welcome Notre Dame to Storrs in 2021-22 and 2023-24.
I guess no more Muffet after all......64 years old....Geno's older...big suprise

Her team last year kind of sucked. She may have just lost the energy for doing this. Her calling card as a coach was offensive sets. Over the years UConn had all kinds of trouble defending ND on a much more consistent basis than any team they played. They always had multiple players who could handle and shoot and those are always the toughest teams to defend.

Could be a virus thing.....its bringing a different perspective to a lot of people these days. Just wanted to enjoy life a little.

She was a beast but you can put ND down for a new reality which was a lot more of last year.

It's a Husky hat trick +1 !... ( all 2021's signed, sealed and delivered )

What surely seems to be a 180, for Geno's recruiting, are the days of 6-7 players on his rosters that could play in the rotation.... and him praying that there were no injuries. He has no SR's this year and with the 4 signees could have as many as 14 scholly players next year that are capable of PT. Looks like Geno wants to be locked and loaded for his last hurrah !

The podcast from the Uconn Blog below " take(s) stock of the roster and try to figure out how all the minutes will be divided up over the next few seasons "

Blades,

Good posts. Geno has gotten super burned with depth issues, especially the year Stevens left unexpectedly early (which turned out to be a wise move on her part professionally) and with injuries to various players having depleted the depth. His team is totally locked and loaded but I think next year some pro defections could happen, particularly Williams and ONO, but UConn is now prepared and will not be left short as when Stevens left early. Stevens leaving early shocked the UConn staff as they believed she made a 2 year commitment but someone convinced her to leave and that was that. And honestly she was kind of ready so it should not have been a total surprise that something like that could happen. The days of 6-7 girl depth and hold your breath for no foul trouble are OVER!!!!!!

Even this year I think there is one team to beat- South Carolina- and we will see what happens. These girls will be in the mix for NC #12

Does that mean that she has to leave a semester early?
Courant- "She will be able to practice and eligible to play in games with the No. 4 Huskies following a medical quarantine. .........the NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility for all college athletes this year, Poffenbarger decided now was the time to start her next chapter."

As stated in the article she has the potential option of staying and winning 5 national championships. She would be the first to do it, if it is done.

There are various mixtapes of her floating around online. As in this one, she looks like she likes to hang on the perimeter and shoot 3s:

She might enhance the team's 3 point shooting. She does have what looks like college ready size. Looks like a stretch 4 to me. Maybe a little taller than Anna.
