Here's a little on the meeting @ the Rent last night for those who missed it:
The one word coming out on the both sides of the ball from both the OC & DC is aggressiveness....

No more snail slow huddle or the rugby scrum we saw @ times for 3 years from Diaco's joke of an offense. And the numerous times a game he almost didn't even get the play off or got a delay of game penalty as the lumbering OL would just barely get to the line of scrimmage as they broke with 7-8 secs on the play clock....( Navy game anyone ? where Diaco spazed out and blew his only timeout on the Navy 1/2 yard line with 18 secs left, because of a slow huddle break and cost his team a possible win)
No more run down the clock as much as possible and burn as much time off on every possession( so Diaco's D numbers can look better by keeping the ball away from the other team, even when he's down 20+ points). This will be a no huddle, get right at it , spread it out offense to create spacing , "even for the running game" , from Rhett Lashlee.
On the other side of the ball Billy Crocker had a number one defense in the FCS, by playing aggressive FB and bringing pressure as he said, even "on first or second downs" to attempt to dictate to the opponent, not the other way around. Gone will be Diaco's bend but don't break, with DB's sitting back 10-15 yds off the ball....waiting as a victim as the other team moves it unchallenged to the red zone.... lying in the fetal position defensive FB.
Plenty of work to be done as it evolves but that's the plan and my take from what I heard, which.... If nothing else it should be interesting FB for the fans and also for aggressive recruits who want to come to Uconn now that Diaco's ( & Pasqualoni/ DeLeone's) 1960's philosophy is gone.
A few more notes:
* Spring practice starts March 21st.
* Edsall says he will still be adding to the roster, so expect changes between now and August
* this years Spring game will be a night game @ 7pm on Friday April 21st
