Cincy

They've won 12 in a row, 9-0 conference. They go 9 deep and dropped 78 points on Xavier. Even if Huskies go deeper than 6 it's going to be 2 rusty players who haven't provided much spark. It's going to be a sell out....

Cincy and SMU are clearly the best teams in the American. Cincy is 9-0 in the league and SMU is 9-1. It will be difficult for UConn to beat Cincy as it was to win at SMU where UConn got drilled. UConn has to play a really good game.

Im happy with cinci's success and I wish more teams in the conference were experiencing it. They just played a tough one at Tulsa, who is having a tough year, but anyone can beat anyone these days this isn't the 90's. You know the Dogs are going to bring it and I'm excited about seeing how they handle this competition and I'm watching for the continued development & will to win. One thing I'm going to be particularly interested in seeing is if they can continue to experience success at the line. People are quick to jump on any perceived lack of development but if they continue these game winning habits of improving at the line and fighting to the death pessimism is going to be a tough sell.

A little pre-game chatter from the other side, Mick says all the right things (actually Uconn has won 5 of the last 7 ) and then adds a little more
Uconn player evaluation and a little talk of his close win over Tulsa.

He is a very good coach. Nobody works the refs better than he does. A very intense dude.

Vegas Insider has Cincy as a 14 point favorite. With that spread I like UConn to cover.

Simply a level of talent issue tonight. we had plenty of open shots and they made more. We just arent that good.

On the flip side I think Jackson could really become special.

UConn covered the spread which was Cincy -14. Vegas Insider was right on the money with their line! Cincy was just a better team.

Uconn didn't cover the spread, if they did they'd have to lose by 13 or less. The game in the world of degenerate gamblers( LOL !) is called "a push" as if the bet never happened. The moral of the story is don't bet on "baskets", you have to die a million deaths over the last few minutes even though the actual game isn't on the line for the players>>>

Yeah but nobody who bet money on Cincy won anything and they probably went nuts the last few minutes as Cincy had leads over 23 points, so UConn thwarted any profit on those bets. Admittedly this is just a small victory in another dismal performance, but I am trying to find some silver linings here.

It's called a push, it's not complicated....Cincy didn't cover either & correct nobody who bet on Uconn won anything. And actually if you bet on Uconn you had a winner with just over a minute when they got it down to 12 ....so the Uconn bettors took a worse kick in the nuts because they came back to cover and then blew it again...
...but the moral is as I said above ( on both sides of the line !)

Recap from the Courant's beat writer... the wins over the poor sisters( RPI #, 217, 279 & 283) of the AAC were nice, but says:
" UConn can be defined, again, as a middle-of-the-pack team in a so-so conference. This is not new, and it can be only partially chalked up to the injuries. Since joining,
the AAC UConn has finished 12-6, 10-8 and 11-7 in conference play, and is 5-5 this season. That adds up to 38-26; Cincinnati is 50-13. SMU is 52-15.......but during their time in the AAC they have not won a regular-season game in 11 tries at Cincinnati, SMU or Tulsa. They've beaten teams in the bottom half, lost to the teams at the top and landed right in the middle."

he adds: " Here are some takeaways: Too Soft, Turnovers Hurt ...and Not Enough ( Even with Enoch and Durham back)" Great Eight?........
"The Huskies have eight regular season games left, four at home, four on the road. They need five wins to avoid a losing record, six for a winning record
and some hope for the NIT. Will the pride show ? "
