Christian Vital Is The Best Player On The Team

UConn would not have won this game without him tonight. This kid is a fighter! He came to play tonight, made mistakes but also winning plays.

Not exactly a wondrous performance by the team on offense tonight. I don't understand how Jalen averages almost 29 ppg in 3 games in Maui and then comes home and totally lays an egg tonight, as did Rodney. If these guys suck this badly playing against a zone D nobody should ever play anything else against them the rest of the year.

I think wins will be hard to come by all year with this group.

The only teams that don't play zone against them are teams that don't have a zone.

Vital was angry when he came out of the game after making a 3, couldn't blame him, he should have gotten every minute

I disagree. He is shooting 36% from the field overall this season. The same exact field goal percentage as Rodney Purvis, but somehow most of us see Vital as a "shooter."

He definitely has confidence and moxy on the court. Has great interviews, but his handle is limited, and his athleticism is also limited. I have yet to see a CV fast break that did not end up in disaster.

Last night he shot the ball well, but he also only had 1 assist to 4 turnovers. Not great numbers. Most of his shots come from being set up by other players, his drives to the rim are in all honesty pretty ugly. I do give him credit for at least throwing his body out there to try and draw a foul, something our other more talented guards have failed at.

I like his confidence, he is a decent shooter who plays solid defense, but he is definitely not our best player. I would like to see him look to set up other players more.

Don't like some of the shots he continues to jack up early in the shot clock and offense but he is aggressive so...
